As the saying goes, micromanagement comes with a speed limit…so your team can only deliver as fast as you can keep everything straight in your head to tell them what to do. However, letting go and delegating more to your people is not always easy, as it is often very difficult to let go of something you enjoy doing.
The best leaders at letting go always reinvent before they let go. You can too. Determine where you should focus your time and energy to make a bigger difference before you let go. It’s reinventing your role to make sure you don’t feel that you lost something, but you have gained something. Also, find the enjoyment (the buzz) in the your new focus, and you will feel more confident in letting go more in the future too.
